Grandparent Camp
Grandparent Camp is a fresh and exciting concept for Truett. Kids (6-12 years old) can attend camp with their grandparent(s). The camp will include many of our traditional summer camp activities (swimming, snack shack, worship services, group games, crafts, archery, and more!) but adjusted to allow grandparent and grandchild to create memories together.
The entire program will allow for a positive experience for both grandparent and grandchild. They will enjoy a hotel-style accommodations, snack shack, and choice in activities to allow them to adjust their own intensity level. Last year’s camp received rave reviews.
Your grandchild(ren) will feel so special as you devote three days of quality time and fun together. Our theme this year is The Way!
Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

INVEST IN YOUR INHERITANCE
Childhood is the uniquely designed time to mold a child’s heart toward God. Your most important investment is time spent with your grandchildren!

MAKE LASTING MEMORIES
Enjoy the fun and laughter of making quality memories that will last a life time. Get away with God and your grandchildren in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains!

LEAVE A LEGACY
Give them your blessings. Give them the hope of your life in Christ. It’s never too late to light the torch for them to carry, it’s never too late to LEAVE A LEGACY!
Amazing Recreation
Truett will set the activities and schedule for the week to ease the stress off grandparents and allow the grandkids to burn energy while having fun. Grandparents are welcome to join in all activities. Why should the kids be the only one having the fun?
ARCHERY
Learn how to safely handle our Genesis compound bows. This is an incredibly satisfying activity for all ages and skill levels. Improvement often happens quickly and is easily visible.
SWIMMING
Our excellent pool has steps for easy entry and is between 3 and 5 feet. Truett lifeguards will allow grandparents to splash and play or drop off grandchildren.
AIR RIFLES
Gun safety is heavily emphasized as campers learn target shooting with equipment well suited to their ages. Younger campers will use BB guns while adults get their hands on the air rifles.
ZIPLINE
One of our most popular activities! We have two parallel ziplines at 300′ long, and campers get to enjoy every foot of that as they securely fly through the air.
GROUP GAMES
Camp games are always guaranteed to be a little goofy, make most laugh, and 100 percent enjoyable.
GAME ROOM
Our game room features ping pong, fooseball, carpetball, and cornhole. Immediately outside are tetherball stations, gaga ball, basketball, and four square.
CRAFTS
Creating things together will also make memories, physical mementos, and a fun experience.
WORSHIP SERVICES
Our worship services will give everyone a chance to focus on praising our Heavenly Father in a large group setting. The messages will challenge both adults and kids, in addition to prompting great follow up conversation.
The first part of being prepared is being informed!
Here are some answers to our most commonly asked questions.
What will the accommodations be like?
Our hotel rooms feature two beds, one full-sized mattress and one brand new queen mattress, per room with private bathroom facilities. For families that need more bed space our bunkhouses will be available with twin sized bunks and two private bathrooms per room. Grandparents and grandchildren will stay in the same room.
What do I need to pack?
Linens and towels are provided in the Conference Center rooms. You will need to bring your own towels for pools. We recommend water bottles, Bible, sunscreen, two pairs of shoes, toiletries, and enough clothes for the few days. If staying in the bunkhouse you will need to bring pillows & linens.
When is check-in?
Check-in is on Monday from 1:00-3:00 PM.
Can multiple grandparents come? Multiple grandchildren?
Yes! Absolutely! And you’ll get the best value this way. Each person is only an extra $50! Please keep in mind that the camp is designed for children aged 6 to 12. If you have a child that does not fit in that age range please contact the Summer Camp Coordinator (828-389-8828, ext. 5903).
What steps are taken to ensure safety?
All staff and volunteers undergo a background check. During staff training counselors will be trained not only in basic first aid, but also to be aware enough to help prevent many incidents. The camp takes safety very seriously and endeavors to have a certified medical professional on property every week of summer camp. Staff are trained to facilitate activities and employs American Red Cross certified lifeguards. Also the camp is inspected on an annual basis. In 2019 the camp received a 99.5 health and safety rating from the NC Department of Health & Safety.
