LODGING OPTIONS

All lodging has A/C, Heat, Electricity and private restrooms. Options include hotels, apartments, and bunkhouses. Lodging will be assigned based on availability, family size, and needs. No matter where you stay, you can enjoy 90 acres of beautiful mountainside property with a plethora of activities and convenient location to many attractions.

Our Bunkhouses have 2 private bathrooms per room and between 12-16 beds (bunks) with brand new HVAC units.

ARCHERY

Learn how to safely handle our Genesis compound bows. This is an incredibly satisfying activity for campers of any skill level as improvement often happens quickly and is easily visible. 

FISHING

Whether you’re casting a line in search of fish or a great conversation, you’ll find both at our lake! Spend time making memories about the BIG CATCH, with rods and reels provided by Truett.

AIR RIFLES

Gun safety is heavily emphasized as campers learn target shooting with equipment well suited to their ages. Younger campers will use BB guns while teens get their hands on pellet rifles. We also have air pistols

ZIPLINE

One of our most popular activities! We have two parallel ziplines at 300′ long, and campers get to enjoy every foot of that as they fly through the air.

TOMAHAWK THROWING

A new activity for teens for 2020. Few things at camp are more satisfying than sticking a tomahawk in our pine log targets.

 

 

 

OUTDOOR SKILLS

We would be elated to teach you the art and science of many outdoor skills including shelter building, fire building, and tent camping.

KAYAKING

Kayakers will learn the proper techniques and safety practices through fun and challenging games that encourage individual skill development. A pre-requisite to do on-camp before kayaking the Hiawassee River.

 

CAMPFIRE & SMORES

The quintessential camp experience! Enjoy family time, a great snack, and a beautiful fire at one of our many campfire locations. The conversation that happens around a campfire can be unparalleled.

Site Recreation

TUBING

Enjoy a trip down the river with camp provided tubes and transportation. This trip is a great option for all ages and can be enjoyed from May through even October on warm days. The trip takes approximately 2 hours on the water and features some areas to stop and play. 

KAYAKING

Kayakers will learn the proper techniques and safety practices through fun and challenging games that encourage individual skill development. A pre-requisite to do on-camp before kayaking the Hiawassee River.

 

MOUNTAIN BIKING

We have over a dozen mountain bikes that allows us to take interested guests to nearby Jackrabbit Mountain, a perfect place for beginners to experience this adrenaline inducing activity for the first time. Experienced mountain bikers will get a chance to show off their skills as well.

CANOEING

A classic alternative to kayaking, canoeing will always bring great memories with a touch of nostalgia. Canoes have a little more stability and are great for bringing our younger guests out on to the waters. We have options for canoeing both the Hiawassee River or the beautiful Lake Chatuge. 

WHITE WATER RAFTING

Raft the Ocoee River, the same river the kayaking events were held in the 1996 Summer Olympics! Over 5 miles you will enjoy nearly continuous class 3 and class 4 rapids, guided by a trained and certified professional. Through Truett you get a special rate with our trusted rafting outfitter. All participants must be 12 and older. Rafting is available Thursday through Monday.

Here are some answers to our most commonly asked questions.  

What will a day of Family Camp be like?

Family camp is a customizable experience! Let us know what you want, and we’ll partner with you to provide the experience you need!

Will food be provided?

If there are at least ten total guests interested in meals, we’ll happily provide a tasty and well-rounded meal. Our meals are competitively priced with what you find at area restaurants.

What are the camp's COVID-19 policies?

We encourage you to socially distance form all other people on camp besides those in your family. Our staff will be friendly and approachable, but respectful of the distance you wish to maintain. The camp also receives daily sanitizing when guests are here. Staff undergo regular wellness checks. As always, we maintain robust cleaning standards. .

What amenities are at the camp?

We have internet throughout most of the camp, campfire areas, picnic tables, and HVAC in all buildings guests use. If staying in our hotels or apartments we provide bath towels and linens.

What steps are taken to ensure my child's safety?

All staff and volunteers undergo a background check. During staff training counselors will be trained not only in basic first aid, but also to be aware enough to help prevent many incidents. The camp takes safety very seriously. Staff are trained to facilitate activities and employs American Red Cross certified lifeguards. Also the camp is inspected on an annual basis. In 2019 & 2020 the camp received a 99.5 health and safety rating from the NC Department of Health & Safety.

What should we bring to camp?

We suggest you bring 2 pairs of tennis shoes, clothing, toiletries, beach towels, Bibles, and anything else your family may need. Please do not bring alcohol, tobacco products, or weapons.
