SERVICE

As Christ came to serve He calls us to do likewise. This will encourage students to put their faith in motion at camp and in the community. Projects are likely to include nursing homes, food pantries, assisting the elderly with yard work, and whatever else God leads us to do!

ADVENTURE

Truett’s excelelnt facilities, location, and recreation makes for an exciting time for all! Staff will be there to help facilitate the fun!

CHRIST-FOCUSED

At the heart of it at all will be giving campers a chance to experience God like never before. Often at camp young people experience a mountaintop experience with God. With your chaperones there to see it firsthand, you’ll be able to ensure this trip to the mountain will foster continual growth back at home.

The first part of being prepared is being informed!

Here are some answers to our most commonly asked questions.

Do we need to bring chaperones?

Yes, we want to involve your leaders and kids both in this event. We suggest a 1:10 ratio at minimum.

What makes this camp a good option for children ministries?

Unlike a big conference, campers will be able to be outside more, enjoy more activities, and receive more personal attention. Leaders will appreciate the low cost, low stress, and extra time to rest. With us taking care of the majority of the logistics you’ll even have more time to invest in your kids.

What are the accommodations like?

We have excellent bunkhouses with two private bathrooms and enough space for 12-16 people per room. With a total or 12 rooms, we can handle groups of all different sizes. The mattresses are fairly new, inner spring mattresses, rather than the traditional camp foam mattresses. The rooms also have new HVAC units.

Groups will be assigned lodging based on gender and church they came with.

What steps are taken to ensure my child's safety?

All staff and volunteers undergo a background check. During staff training counselors will be trained not only in basic first aid, but also to be aware enough to help prevent many incidents. The camp takes safety very seriously and endeavors to have a certified medical professional on property every week of summer camp. Staff are trained to facilitate activities and employs American Red Cross certified lifeguards. Also the camp is inspected on an annual basis. In 2021 the camp received a perfect 100 health and safety rating from the NC Department of Health & Safety.

What should my child bring to camp?

Campers should bring their own bedding (twin sized bunks), toiletries, clothes, and Bible. All medication must be turned in at check-in to our camp nurse. The medication should be in original containers in a 1 gallon ziploc bag with the camper’s name clearly labeled.

Kids must bring their own money to purchase snacks and items from the camp store.
