Authentic Adventure

Children’s Church Camp will be geared towards kids’ ministries (grades 1-5) to have a camp experience at Truett. We will provide housing, meals, recreation, and exceptional programming to connect kids to Jesus Christ. The camp will run from Monday to Friday.

We ask that churches plan on a 1 to 5 ratio of chaperones to students. The cost is $275 per person, including chaperones. We are looking forward to partnering with you to make a life-long transformative impact.

SERVICE

As Christ came to serve He calls us to do likewise. This will encourage students to put their faith in motion at camp and in the community. Projects are likely to include nursing homes, food pantries, assisting the elderly with yard work, and whatever else God leads us to do!

ADVENTURE

With a mixture of on-site and off-site recreation options, campers can experience adrenaline pumping excitement or more leisurely fun. All activities are included in the cost of registration. A sample of some available activities are listed below.

CHRIST-FOCUSED

At the heart of it at all will be giving campers a chance to experience God like never before. Often at camp young people experience a mountaintop experience with God. With your youth leaders, and other adults there to see it firsthand, you’ll be able to ensure this trip to the mountain will foster continual growth back at home.

Amazing Recreation

Overwhelmed at the thought of attending a big conference or planning your own summer camp experience? Worn out? We’ve got you covered with some amazing activities included at no extra cost and operated by trained staff!

***Some activities are limited in size.***

GA GA BALL

Also known as Octoball, this game has swept across the nation at schools and camps over the past decade. It’s a mixture between four square and dodgeball played inside a three foot tall walled octagon. May the best camper win!

GAME ROOM

We have a great Game Room that consists of Ping Pong, Circle Pong, the ever popular carpetball, and air hockey.

SHOOTING SPORTS

Our BB guns are excellent fun and a great tool to teach gun safety. We also have Genesis compound bows that are well suited to introduce people to archery while allowing experienced archers a chance to hone their skills.

ZIPLINE

One of our most popular activities! We have two parallel ziplines at 300′ long, and campers get to enjoy every foot of that as they fly securely through the air.

WATER ACTIVITIES

Summer is the perfect time to have fun with water! There will be nearly daily opportunities to splash and play. We have an excellent swimming pool, slip-n-slide, and many of our field games may involve water activities as well.

POOL

Camp has a great pool! It’s the perfect way to cool off and play!

The first part of being prepared is being informed!

Here are some answers to our most commonly asked questions.

Do we need to bring chaperones?

Yes.This will allow a church to bring their own adults and invest first-hand into their youth. Our staff will be around to assist throughout the day. We suggest a 1:5 ratio of adults to campers.

What makes this camp a good option for kids' ministries?

Unlike a big conference, kids will be able to be outside in nature, do more activities, and receive more personal attention. Truett will handle the lion’s share of the logistics, freeing you up to make deeper personal connections with your kids.

What are the accommodations like?

We have excellent bunkhouses with two private bathrooms and enough space for 12-16 people per room. With a total or 12 rooms, we can handle groups of all different sizes. The mattresses are fairly new, inner spring mattresses, rather than the traditional camp foam mattresses. And yes, the rooms have AC.

Groups will be assigned lodging based on gender and church they came with.

What steps are taken to ensure my child's safety?

All staff and volunteers undergo a background check. During staff training counselors will be trained not only in basic first aid, but also to be aware enough to help prevent many incidents. The camp takes safety very seriously and endeavors to have a certified medical professional on property every week of summer camp. Staff are trained to facilitate activities and employs American Red Cross certified lifeguards. Also the camp is inspected on an annual basis. In 2021 & 2022 the camp received a 100 health and safety rating from the NC Department of Health & Safety.

What should my child bring to camp?

Campers should bring their own bedding (twin sized bunks), toiletries, clothes, and Bible. All medication must be turned in at check-in to our camp nurse. The medication should be in original containers in a 1 gallon ziploc bag with the camper’s name clearly labeled.

It is very important that campers brings a reusable water bottle.

Youth may want to bring money for snacks and camp merchandise.

Can my child be successful at camp if they have a developmental disability?

We welcome you to call our camp office to discuss the specifics of your situation.
